reading

I was reading what has now become wone of my favorite series of books, and came across a quote. I love this quote, and wanted to share it with yall. It makes me think about my mind set two years ago. I had accepted that there was an alternative to winning my battle against cancer, I knew that it was not in my control the outcome, but could not believe that I was not supposed to fight. I had a single minded thought...I had to get better for my family. I would let no one, including doctors and nurses hurt my chances. I considered no one's ideas as the gospel, except God's. If I think about where I am today....I think those same ideas could be said for how we live our everyday lives. We can not whole heartedly trust anyone's judgement, except God's. Here's the quote. Don't turn it to what you might want it to be. Let it be for your battle with God at your side. "If it's worth fighting for, it's worth winning."

fullest

I read this in an email, and I loved it....we talk about how we need to let things not worry us, and that we need to live our lives to the fullest, and live everyday like it was your last. This says it completely....God Bless! Life is too short for drama & petty things, so laugh hard, love truly and forgive quickly. Live While You Are Alive. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second time.

prayers and birthday

Please pray for the girls school secretary as she recovers from surgery for cancer, Mom at her sleep study tonight, and a friend's mother who may face back surgery. Also please say Happy Birthday to my cousin Marcy! All of you have prayers to say...people who need a prayer today. Please take a moment out of your busy day to pray for all of them. God Bless!

mountain

I heard a song I loved immediately last night. It was beautiful, and touched a spot in my heart, I had to send yall a portion of it.....the part that told me that God was talking to me......I hope yall have a safe and blessed weekend. We all are truly blessed. God Bless! And I didn't even know That I had lost my way But You were there with me Yes, You were there with me 'Til You opened up my eyes I never knew That I couldn't ever make it Without You Even though the journey's long And I know the road is hard Well, the One who's gone before me He will help me carry on After all that I've been through Now I realize the truth That I must go through the valley To stand upon the mountain of God

weather

Whenever you don't have anything to talk about to a stranger, the weather is always a safe bet. The weather is an always changing, ever frustrating (for some), and a continuous amazement. We complain about how the weather is changing, and not consistant, but in Ecuador they have all four seasons in one day. As usual we think things are bad, or are unconvenient, when in reality things could always be worse.....or for some blessings. God Bless!

politics

OK...the political arena....yeah I'm gonna go there. You may believe that I'm all for Hillary Clinton, but I'm not gonna say I am. You ought to know me well enough to know that I'm not just gonna vote for someone because they are Rep or Dem, well the same goes for a woman. I believe in equality. Period. That is why I am writing this blog. I heard something today that disturbed me, not just concerned me, like some of the other things I have read, but quote for quote disturbed me. Yesterday was MLK, Jr Day. While this time of year brings memories of Vanderbilt to my mind for me, it naturally brings to mind the Dr's dear wife. Coretta Scott King was buried while I was going thru transplant. It was on the TV's there, so we watched. I have respect for her life. I have always said that even though he was a womanizer I believed in MLK's message, but did not Malcom X's. In order to have equality we cannot be seperate. I read on the news today that Ob

snow

One of those cold mornings that you prayed for snow so you could stay snuggled in bed. Not our luck. We get up, get ready, and tromp through the muck. We can hold our head high and know that we are not alone, all the other fortunate souls get to do it too. Yep, fortunate. Two years ago, I did not know if I was going to live or die, and as far as tromping, I could barely walk. A lot of things change...and a lot of times it's for the better if you only have faith. God Bless!

endure

His love endures forever....that is one of the lines in a song I love. When you think about it, regardless of the beat of the song, it makes you feel good. Carry that warmth with you today as you go out. Know that you can have your own warmth, regardless of the cold around you. God Bless!

imagine

Sometimes we make mistakes. We have all the facts in front of us to determine a situation. We know that the choice we are making is the right one. The deductions and solution are correct, and we cannot be wrong. We believe that there are no assumptions in the factoring because we have everything covered. We even plan for the unexpected. Now, what if one little factor was left out. We did not know one thing, something in which we did assume, unknowingly. It is a little thing, but something that is at the beginning of the planning process. Something that completely makes our deduction false. Now think that situation is not planning for an expence, but a situation with someone. The situation is someone's life. You just believed incorrectly of them, you made a mistake. God tells us in Job, "I know your thoughts....which ye wrongfully imagine..." Let us not imagine something today and hurt someone's feelings, and inturn, let us always be upfront about our live

cold

You know in the south we have cold, ice, a little snow, but not like the north. They have some colder temps. but the main difference is that the cold is not by numbers, but by feel. It is a cutting, seeping cold. To me it is an invading cold. I think that the devil is like that. An invading evil. A true evil that tries to soak into you no matter how many layers we put on. Now God is like true warmth it protects you from the cold, and doesn't let it soak in....evil just rolls off of you. If you feel like that warmth is leaving you, or that you are becoming cold just...."Have a little talk with Jesus". You'll feel better fast. Choose to Have a Great Day! God Bless!

donkey

I picked up all three girls after work today and we were on our way home. We passed one house and Ele says, "Hey there were a bunch of deer by that house!" I looked and sure enough there were about a half-dozen deer. Then she says, "Hey Momma...you know those people are really blessed cause if their really hungry they can just go outside and shoot a deer and they've got food!" I said , "That's right!" I was laughing then she says, "Hey Momma they've got Donkey's! Why don't we have Donkey's?" I said, "I don't know" Then she says, "We need a donkey, but Dada says we don't cause we've got April!" I said, "Ele that wasn't nice of him!" Then I was rollin! Get you're own donkey too! God Bless!

cell phone

OK. Before 2006 Christmas I dropped my cell phone in the toilet at work. Well, I know what I'm getting for Valentine's Day. Yep, but this time it wasn't the toilet. I left it in the jacket I wore Saturday, and Robert washed it. Sometimes things just don't go the way you think. You want to say , "That's just my luck"....DON'T. We we're leaving the vet Saturday, Ele pointed at a house near by and said, "Momma, those people are blessed, cause if their dog gets sick, they're near the vet." We need to look at life more like that. The positive and the negative can be looked at as blessings, it's all in how we phrase it. The more positive we look, and speak, the more positive we will feel, as will those around us. God Bless!

hula

Image
Some great friends of ours got the girls hula girl outfits. Eme immediately stripped and put hers on, then started posing. They had a ball! Hope yall have a great week! God Bless!

today

Many times we think that the things going on in our lives have no "out". That at that moment in time we see only a wall, no door, no options, nothing better than what is in fron of us. We can either have faith that it WILL get better, or that we are "dead" sometimes litterally. The faith that is required during times like these is also the faith that is there during the happy ones. Do we realize that the very faith that makes us smile during the good times, is also the very faith that shines a light in the dark? God is always there, it is simply us opening our eyes and seeing him, or better yet putting on your "faith glasses" and seeing the whole situation clearly. Have a Great Weekend! God Bless!

experience

I came across a quote just now that I love! It is completely true. We think we want something, but the journey there can be applied, and in turn can teach us so much more. I've said it before, yall, but take the time to enjoy life....you'll be happier. “Experience is what you get when you do not get what you want.” God Bless!

studies

I saw a new study on the news yesterday....Anxiety affects the heart.....really? How many times have we read about these studies, and said, well, I could have told you that! We realize that it takes a lot of money, time, and thought. We consider it wasted. We have to remember though that there are a lot of people out there who do not have something called, common sense. Considering that, and the fact that some of these "simpleton" tests do evolve into real thought provoking tests, we allow the exception to them. Couldn't that be the case to many things in our lives, including us? For instance, do you think God is watching going, "What are they thinking?!?...no wait they have to learn on their own." He has GREAT patience with us. Do you think you could give someone else some of your patience today? God Bless!

open

I found this...written by now cancer survivor, Carol Kuykendall Be open to the possibilities....that these circumstances hold more than what I see right now. Be open to the possibilities....of God's promise to grow good things in hard places. Be open to the possibilities....of discovering new hope. Be open to the possibilities....one day at a time. When I look ahead, I have a choice: to fear the future or to stretch my imagination to embrace God's possibilities each morning. Have a great day yall! God Bless!

Lemonade

I loved this one!!!! Please remember this is what I believe completely! LEMONADE This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true. 1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for. 2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way. 3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. 4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you. 5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep. 6.. You mean the world to someone. 7. You are special and unique. 8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you. 9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it. 10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take another look. 11.. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks. And always remember..... When life hands you lemons, MAKE LE

new year

Happy New Year! You can start any day with a new outlook on life it's all in your decision from here on. I found the quote below and loved it, because it shows how we all stumble. I think what mattters is how we pick ourselves back up. "New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual. ~Mark Twain" God Bless!
