New Year

During this time of year we hear the word 'resolution' thrown around a lot. I have never really cared for the word because it seems as though we associate a since of setting ourselves up for failure with the word. I looked up the definition to be fair before writing this blog and really didn't get a whole lot of information or better understanding thus reinforcing my belief in the wrongness of the word. An amazing thing to me though….the synonym for resolution is courage. Now my mind buzzed……courage, hmmm. So we have the courage to attempt to change or better ourselves. I like that word a whole lot more.

Happy New Year yall….and on a funny note. The girls DS game systems can "talk" to each other, or chat as the girls say. The both were sitting in the back of the car, and you have to picture that Eme has her DS out and Ele is just sitting there without hers, when Eme says, "Hey Ele! Let's Chat!" Ele in the flattest voice without skipping a beat says, "Eme. We ARE chatting right now." Ahh…..she is SO her Daddy!

A girl I work with's daughter was in the Mexican resturant eating when she felt something lick and nibble her foot. She looked under the table and saw...yep you guessed it....a mouse. She screams, kicks the mouse and looks and the mouse can't run...she's broke it's leg. So the waiters got the mouse, and she got her meal for free, but she couldn't eat it! haha! Moral of the story. strength

Some days we don't feel as though we have the strength to do much of anything.  To get up, to eat, to not eat, to fight the daily battle of traffic, work, or relationships....why?  Mainly because we lose our confidence.  Our confidence in the ability to "handle" things.  Remember the verse: "I  can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Phillipians 4:13.    We have talked before about how we are not alone, but we have not discussed how the devil attacks our confidence in the ability to achieve.  The ability that when we are doing what the Lord wants we can accomplish it through Him...not alone.  Repeatedly through the Bible God says that he will not forsaken us for he is with us.  If you have a doubt about something, first is it something that God wishes, second if it is then know that the devil is in play...including the attempted breakdown of your inner strength.  After you realize that keep telling yourself that God is with you and you have the
